R.I.’s other airport businesses: Beyond T.F. Green, there are lean machines

This week the Providence Journal’s Paul Parker wrote an article on the importance of Rhode Island’s General Aviation airports, their thriving, small businesses, and the economic contribution these efficiently operated airports bring to each community. Due to their nature, these airports do not have the economic impact of T.F. Green, however they are important landmarks in their communities.

The article focused on some of the family owned, small businesses based at the Newport State Airport including: Heather Corson’s Newport Aviation, which offers flight training and aircraft rentals; Jeff Codman’s Birds Eye View Helicopters, offering scenic helicopter tours of Newport & aerial photography anywhere in the state; and Mark Tripari’s Skydive Newport, providing skydiving services at Newport for the last 17 years.

The article also listed the businesses that can be found at RI other General Aviation Airports:

Quonset State Airport

North Central State Airport

Newport State Airport

Westerly State Airport

Block Island State Airport
